What SWAG is

SWAG (swag.live) is a Taiwan-based adult social and livestreaming platform, launched around 2016 by Sam Liu, with roots in the team behind livestreaming company 17LIVE. It bills itself as Asia's largest adult content platform — sometimes dubbed the "Pornhub of Asia" — blending live streams, ticketed Paid Shows, pay-per-view videos, story unlocks, and paid one-on-one messaging. Its servers are US-hosted. By 2019, around its Mithril (MITH) crypto tie-up, it reported over 1.5 million registered users; its own 2024 report says nearly 5,000 new creators joined that year, roughly 40% of them from Vietnam, followed by Taiwan.

How creators earn

Everything runs on diamonds, a non-expiring in-app currency fans buy (in bulk, roughly two-tenths of a US cent each — about 24,999 diamonds for USD 49.99). Creators — SWAGers — earn a share of the diamonds spent on them across live streams, private streams (metered around 180 diamonds per minute), Paid Shows, PPV videos, and private chat. The upside is real: SWAG's official 2024 report cited a top private-messaging creator earning about USD 490,000 (up 17% year over year) and said 8.8% of new creators reach USD 30,000 within four months. Those are marketing highlights, not medians.

The payout problem

Here is the honest catch: SWAG does not publicly disclose the creator revenue-share percentage, the payout minimum, the schedule, or the withdrawal methods. Its earnings documentation sits behind a gated Creator Center, and public help pages explain only what fans pay, never what creators keep. Legal history and privacy

SWAG carries baggage. On April 2, 2021, Taiwan's Criminal Investigation Bureau raided its offices, briefly forced the site offline, questioned dozens of staff and arrested five — including founder Sam Liu and his spouse — over allegations of offending public morals, after a mock-subway film set drew condemnation and questions about whether the platform facilitated sex work. Operations resumed within about a month, no criminal charges were ultimately filed, and SWAG tightened ID and age verification. Separately, its paid content is heavily pirated: clips and streams are routinely re-uploaded to Telegram channels and tube sites, so creators should assume leaks are possible.

Fan experience and discovery

For fans, SWAG's strengths are volume and intimacy — a deep amateur Asian library, constant live streams, and private chat the platform leans on hard (its 2025 report says fans are 18x more likely to send gifts in private sessions than public ones). The discovery engine is genuinely strong: algorithmic ranking and, by SWAG's own figures, a new follower for active creators every 5.7 seconds. The downside is the pay-for-everything model — diamonds meter nearly every interaction, and costs mount quickly.

Bottom line

SWAG is legit and large, with a real audience and real top-end money — but it is opaque exactly where it matters most (payouts), it leaks, and its legal past is not trivial.
